What do we do?
We foster individual creativity while building artistic skills in fun ways.
"Everything Art Class" is a Mixed Media Adventure:
Most of our classes named "Everything Art" are focused on a variety of media (what we use to make art). We like to give a broad range of experiences to our students by using watercolors, acrylics, mixed-media, pastels, pencils, clay, collage, and more. We create in the style of famous artists, learn about art from around the world, dive into dozens of different techniques/skills and always enjoy making art to take home. In each class we focus in on a specific project. Students are encouraged to do their art in their own unique style. No two artworks leaving our studio ever look the same. Ultimately, we strive to create a joyful place to make art and gain confidence in our abilities and our uniqueness.
Hand-Building in Ceramics:
Students learn different techniques including pinch pots, coil building, slab construction, and all the techniques to bring their projects to life. Once students have mastered these basics, the world of clay is opened up to them! They play in the "mud" and create both decorative and functional pieces of art. All materials and firings are included.
Wheel-Throwing in Ceramics:
We are excited to debut our first wheel-throwing clinics (a group of 4 classes)! Students will learn the basics of wheel throwing and create their own bowls, vases, mugs, etc. They will also learn how to attach handles and add decoration. All materials and firings are included.
Drawing Clubs:
Clubs dive deeper into one area and can be taken as a stand-alone class or in addition to any class. Clubs are fun and full of learning and practice. Drawing Club meets the first Friday of each month. We have a spot for kids 5-18 in our Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Drawing Clubs.
Private Classes:
Subject to availability, any class or medium can be taken as a private class (for both kids and adults). We teach drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, and more. We can also help your student with their portfolio for art school admissions. The fee is generally $65/hour.
Cost:
Prices listed in the descriptions on the client portal are for the entire ten-month school year. The monthly "session charge" is what you pay per month. This is the average of all classes divided up over the ten months if you choose the monthly autopay option. For example, the total fee for a class might be $416 and includes all instruction and materials for the school year. The monthly autopay fee is $41.60. We also have a one-time enrollment fee of $15.
Financial Policies:
You have the option to pay in full for the full ten-month session (mid-August through mid-May) and receive a 5% tuition discount. You can pay by cash/check by contacting the studio. All other payments via credit card or ACH bank transfers will be enrolled in our monthly autopay with the full class tuition spread over 10 months (August through May). You will be charged the first month of tuition (August) and a $15 registration fee upon enrollment. If hardship or something else arises (scheduling conflicts, moving, etc.), please contact the studio ASAP. If a refund is requested, we review each request on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to withdraw your artist for any reason you may do so by submitting a 30-day notice by email to info@mabartists.com. Tuition can be paid by cash, check or credit card. All accounts will be drafted from the credit card on file for the corresponding installment amount on the first of each month (unless you pay in full up front). If you would like to pay by an alternate method (cash or check) this can be done up to 2 business days before the scheduled drafting date. There will be a 3.5% processing fee for all credit card transactions. Tuition and fees are non-refundable, except in the event of Make and Believe Artists cancelling your programing for unforeseen reasons. In this case, you will first be offered a make-up date and then a refund if you cannot attend the make-up date. Please note that any accounts with unpaid balances will be subject to collections with all associated fees. Again, if your family experiences unexpected financial hardship, please reach out before withdrawing your artist.
